Default Car not starting

I have a 2004 base model mustang that had been sitting for a little over a year with a dead and gone battery. This morning, I replaced the battery with a brand new one. All the electrical stuff works fine, lights, windows, etc. The first time I turned the key, it tried to start for ~2 seconds then stopped. Electrical stuff still works, but on subsequent attempts, it doesn't even try it just makes a "kachunk" sound and then nothing. With the positioning of the starter, I am really hoping it is something else. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the issue might be and/or potential solutions I can try? Thank you.

Have you checked the fuel pump shut-off switch? Check the switch in the trunk. It should be on the left side and look something like this. Push the red button to reset it and make sure the harness is connected.
