Default Panel removal and installation.

I'm working my 1995 Mustang from the interior to the exterior.

I've installed 2002 Gt seats and some billet aluminum accessories! =D

My interior has gray and black panels. The Billet Aluminum accessories clash with the gray, so I'm removing all the gray panels and replacin them with black panels. I have the front kick panels for both the driver and passenger side. I'm not sure how to remove the old ones and install the new ones. I've done some searching on google, but this is all I've come up with:

The rocker panels need to come off first.
The rocker panels for those of you who don't know are the long narrow panels that are underneat the door when closed.
I've heard you just pull them straight up to remove them.
Well I pulled straight up, the left side of the passenger side rocker panel (the side towars the seat) came loose, but the other side is still clamped on tight and I have no idea how to pry that off.

After the rocker panels are removed, you're supposed to pry off this circle pad thing that holds in your kick panels.
Once that is done you pull them straight out and they come off.

Does any know how to get the rocker panels off? I don't want to break them even thought I plan on replacing them. Thanks.

Never mind guys, I thought since I have to replace them sooner or later I might as well apply brute force, it turns out the reason the outsider is tight is because it has metal clamps. I got the black front panels installed and an ready to sell my grey ones on Ebay. =D

By the way where did you get your panels. Me I'm adding in Racing seats, removing the rear seat, adding in black carpet, and removing all of the tan interior and rplacing it with black, and the air bag cover will be red, the control panels for the windows will be red, and the speaker pannel will be red. Any advice on where I could get these pannels pre fabed red and black.

Ebay would be your best bet. That's where I'm buying the black panels. Get ready to spends loads of cash though, because we're not the only ones who want black panels. As for red panels, that's going to be hard, I haven't come across anything besides black, gray, and tan.

I did however find a FAQ for painting the panels.
http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/...eriorpaint.htm

Don't buy the dash trims. They're crap, they're made of plastic and not aluminum or burlwood, so I might have to go to painting for that metallic/black look I'm going for.

Another good place to try is junk yards. Stay away from the junk yards that specialize in Ford. Even though they'll most likely have the panels, they charge almost as much as Ford for new parts. You're better off trying to get Ford to special order for you and getting them new. However, if you can find a junk yard that takes any car, and you're lucky enough to find a mustang in there, I don't think they'll charge you too much. Plus the competition at a junk yard is nowhere near as competitive as it gets on Ebay.

Sorry I can't be more help, but I've just recently devoted my time and money into making my car a project. If you got any more questions, I'll try to answer.

One last thing, if you're looking for custom stuff. Type in whatever you're looking for in google.

Ther is always a stang in a junkyard. and BTW if I remove the rear seats is there a way to co5ver the big gap in the back with like a roadster type cover or something.

A roadster cover? I'm not sure what that is, I'll see if I can find out.

Also today I went to Ford to try to buy some black push pins, they didn't have them, almost all the parts for a 94-98 Mustang are obselete! He reccomended I buy some interior paint at Pepboys. Well I did, I got the flat black (make sure you don't get glossy but flat) and spray the push pins. The color match was PERFECT and it only took a few mintues to dry, that paint itself was only 5 dollars. So if you want to go for that red and black look, I suggest getting the red paint and painting the part red.

Um, the paint won't chip or get torn up when somebody scratches it? I was considering doing that, but I was told that repainting the interior looks good, but hope to god somthing doesn't hit it because it will scratch, and boom, there's your original color.

That's my concern about the paint too. I started with just the push pins, after it dried I applied pressure to it with my finger and no little black fragments came of the pin and onto my finger. Today I'm going to try to scratch it off. I'll let you know how good this paint is.

What scares me more than some one scratching it, is if I park in the sun and the paint begins to crack.
