Cobra 232 Said:
a 99+ v6 5spd stang runs pretty close with me. it should be a good race but the 5.0 should pull it alittle but not much. each car is different
so ur saying a stock 99+ V6 mustang can hang with your bird? (not win) but keep up?
yep. the 3800GM V6 F-bodies generally run alittle better than the 99+ stang. it really is a drivers race betwen the 2

Oh to the person who made the comment about the gears. Well let me put it like this, I have a moded 98 auto V6, my buddies 2000 auto v6, only has dual exhaust. Now when we tested our cars out the other night, he was a little quicker than me off the line, now our 0-60, when we redid the numbers last night, were 9 flat. But in the 1/4, since I didn't let off the gas this time, I had the higher speed at 82 mph, while he hit 80. Granted these times were only on one run, but if a moded 98 v6, can beat a stock 2000 v6, I think that 95 GT is going to kick your rear end. Yes you do have bigger gears, but he has about 20 rwhp on you and a hell of a powerband. Also, I'm not getting cocky, because I know that if he adds on a few mods to his 2000 he will be beating me, but my point is that two cars with two different gear settings, but with one stock, one moded, and both equal in engine size, tranny, and milage, it's not always so that the car with the bigger gears will win.

and the mileage really has NOTHING to do with it. If the engine has like 150k miles then it will be ready to BLOW or whatnot...but 70k miles to 34k miles makes absolutely NO difference...being "older" does not mean it performs crappier.

Yea I know that, but some people will say, well that's not fair, he has 100K and you have 30K (not real #s) that's why he lost. I just like to keep all pending variables constant.

being it was the last 5.0L mustang built it is a big block 302 that is very strong.

Ok I know this post is old but...........There is no 302 that is a big block lol.. Thats funny as hell.. That is the same damn 302 they been puttin in them since 1990... Before that they didn't have forged pistons... Now don't get me wrong the accessories on the front of the 94-5 are a little diff then the older ones but the motor is the same... And your comment about the millage isn't true either.. My 88gt 5.0 has around 175,000 on it and has never had the valve covers off. I probably bring mine up to 6 grand everyday and she isn't any weaker then any motor with less mileage.. Its all about if the motor was taken care of or not. Some servive, some don't.......................Big block 302...HA!

yeah i missed that before. no such thing as a bigblock 302 and they actually are not a strong block they are a thinwall cast E7 block which is known for core shift and cylinder shift under boost or above 450hp.

the 94-95 5.0's are generally regarded as usually being slower than the 92-93 foxes

a 94-95 auto vert GT will be a mid 15's car maybe low 15's

my 99 GT vert only does about a 14.6 at best
