this is the only reason i don't want to get a tuner, is because i don't want to run premium, but i want gears. to many choices.

Use a speedcal device instead of a tuner if all you need to do is adjust your speedometer for gear ratio changes. Price typically runs around $50 (used) to around $90 (new).

ummm jsut because you havea tuner you dont have to run premium. SCT can be set for regular. wether or not you see the performance gain as much i dont know it may be just more shift points and firmness and for gear setting to but i say go with an SCT Xcal to from justin at velocity mustangs performance

OK I see a lot of you don't want to use premium, my question is why not? You will get better mpg with premium, and your throttle will be a hair more responsive. Put it this way, when I was stock I came in about 330 miles per tank with regular, now, even with all my mods, I hit almost 400 miles per tank, and here recently I hit 400+ on a couple of occasions, and this was all done on premium grade. Now if for whatever reason we run out and I have to use 87 or 89 octane, I will only get about 325 miles per tank, see, big difference.

The use of premium gas provides no performance gains at all it is actually just a supporter. The reason the tuners require you to use premium gas is they increase ignition timing meaning the spark plug fires sooner then it did before. Because the higher the octane the slower the fuel burns you must run premium so you don't have pre detination (combustion before the fuel and air a completely compressed together). Hope this explains it a little better.

Well I still reccommend the premium fuel, you will get better gas milage, you'll spend 20 cents more, but you'll save about 50 cents to may be a dollar or more, sorry never done the math, but as you can see the savings really adds up in the long run.
