OD changes every gear's aspect. Makes them softer. By turning off the OD, the other gears perform better. OD in newer cars is electronic, and affects the other 3 gears. In the older days, OD would just be another gear. Not anymore!

It's like there's 2 diferent 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. Turn off the OD, and the gearing gets more agressive.

so it's kinda like that waiting period from the time you press the gas to the time your car actually goes?

No, what it does is change the shift pressure, and shift point.

Ok, I think the XCal will work wonders...increasing power, "tightening" throttle response, and hardening shifting/gears. Can't wait!

yea or you could shift it manually, start in first, go to second (done just at the right rpms with synthetic fluid or minor mods you can chirp) which it will hold as long as you want it to, will not go to first, then go into d with O/D off it will got to third. As far as TC, ive got it, and i hate it.

don't shift it yourself, the computer won't let you do anything it wouldn't do, so you're not really going to do anything but create possible things to go wrong
