I don't know, shifting auto manually just doesn't sound safe. I wouldn't want to risk anything. Plus, I don't have synthetics for all the fluids.

It is perfectly OK to manually shift your auto, just make sure you are doing it at the right points. The way you'll know if your doing it wrong is if your car shifts much weaker than normal, this is caused by the previous gear not moving fast enough and suddenly has the next gear up ramed into it, this will slow your acceleration down pretty bad because your car is pushing two gears when it should only be pushing one. The other thing is if your car shifts much harder than normal, this is caused by lets say gear one moving extremely fast and gear two must catch up to gear one, in other words this it what will cause stripping of the gears to occur, this will drastically reduce accelleration because the first gear has to let friction from the second gear slow it down before a shift occurs. If everything feels fine than just keep doing what you been doing, but just letting the car automattically shift itself is the best thing to do. By the way, I don't think you can downsift gears manually on a mustang, I can't on mine anyway, only upshift, could be wrong though and I not going to try it anytime soon either.

Sixes don't come with TC???? OD doesn't make your car much slower, actually better for some racing cuz you have extra gear. But yeah, my six does that too. Punch it...wait...BANG!
Actually the extra gear in a race kinda hurts cause the shift to OD is the biggest lag I have ever felt, and my car didnt gain speed till the long shift was over. plus third wiil last up to the speed limitor antway.

exactly, im thinkin mine was turned off by the previous owner because if i do that and have O/D off i just keep goin up in RPMs and into the 120s, how do you calculate if your car already has gears because im starting to wonder, when i did a burnout both wheels spun, so either it has a LSD or I just got really lucky and had equal weight over the rear tires and spun them both
