Default Wheel Clearance

hey I have another question about wheel clearance. Is there any specific math equation to figuring out how deep of tires you can fit before you need wheel spacers and even then what size wheel spacers you would need? My main question is how deep of wheels can you buy before needing to buy wheels spacers ie 17x? or 18x? I know that I could throw 17 or 18x8's on my car before I needed any wheel spacers but for the front for the turning what is the deepest is it x8 or could I get x9 without tire rub and without wheel spacers? Thanks guys and gals.

Formula is as follows....Too large rims, or too wide tires = rubbing...

y=mx+b...just find the slope and the y-intercept (b)...x=year of car and if y comes out as "n" then that means NO![8D]

Fools hahahahah

For the front you don't ever want to put any spacer...about 18x9 is sufficient...9" wide is the most you can probably go w/o rubbing..9.5" WILL rub.

For the rear you don't have to worry about it...10.5" is huge and would be max. So if you get like 18x9 rims you can get a 1" spacer and it would be flush with your fenders (10" is flush on rear) and about 9" front is flush
