Well it's not 100% hot air, nor is it 100% set in stone that I'll actually get one, I just wanted to see what you guys think would be the best thing to do, because either this week or next week I'm gonna go to Kenner and see Jody, that's my cousins father in law, and see what he can do, if its a good deal, then maybe, if not, then oh well. I'll also look for some newer edge GTs because I saw a GT with some window loovers and that thing looked killer.

with a grand a month income i would be very carefull. the last thing you wanna do is strap yourself with a big car payment and leave yourself little money left every month esp in school. enjoying college life alone will cost ya a grand a month, get a steady girlfriend and that number doubles

I'd get a 06. I was faced with a similar dilema and I ended up getting a 04 V-6 mustang instead of trying to mod the **** out of my old car. While your engine is almost new in your 98 keep in mind it is just that, a 98 mustang. It's about 8 years old now. So you also need to think about suspension wearing out, bushings, and various other odds and ends that wear out on vehicles. It'd be a tough decision. Perhaps a happy medium with a 99-04 GT or Mach 1 or cobra. Don't forget insurance though, that's the only reason why I don't have a GT right now.

why do you have to get a new GT whats wrong with the 6?

then if you want to take the 4k you saved from the GT you could add TTs and be running 12s

BECAUSE, it basically takes forced induction and lots of tranny and rear end work to get a 3.8 or 3.9L V6 into the high 13s. Face it man, unless the Essex is incredibly built, its nothing but a 2V V6. With the 4K you spent on the GT, you can walk almost every non- incredibly built 3.8L/3.9L V6 powered Camaro or Mustang. Six Shooter < 281

i was talking about the 06 V-6, the block cant take as much PSI with TTs as the essex but somebody has one into the 12s with just TTs. If you dont want to do that then you can do a bunch of bolt ons and still run with SN-95 GTs.

if you had twin turbos on a stang and could only get 12's out of it, you wasted a lot of money.

Let's see, the 06 V6 is still just that, a V6, it has a hair bit more HP and Torque over the 99-04s, but for the price the V8 is the much better deal, because a new V6 "BASIC PACKAGE" cost close to 20K and a V6 Premium package cost close to 25K or more, while the new GTs cost between 25-27K, see much better deal. Also insurence is no problem because my insurence is the same on a V6 as it would be on a Cobra, Vette, or a Lambo for that matter, so to put it short, insurence is not a problem. Now I asked what you all , thought would be better moding, out my six, or a newer car, and the vote is leaning towards the newer car. Also remember, if I make my six as fast as a GT, I will be burning more gas then a GT and I will of shortened the life of the engine. Also I make 1K a month with basically no expenses because I was actually smart enough to get a loan big enough to cover my semester expenses for school, and add in the fact that I'm single now, and hopefully plan to keep it that way for a while, I'll have a nice deal of cash to play with at the end of the month.
