if you had twin turbos on a stang and could only get 12's out of it, you wasted a lot of money.
it was just TTs. no gears nothing just turbos and the correct tune

oh and even if you do pay for the car in full, your still just plain stupid if you dont put full coverage on it. ive got full coverage on my POS jeep that i paid $700 for. id say keep the 6 until your are out of school and then buy YOURSELF a new GT or GT500 or mach 1 in 08 if they are actually going to make it.

edit: actually that gives me an idea about getting rid of the jeep

"I have full coverage." WTF is full coverage? There is no such thing. you can buy insurance to cover anywhere from the lowest legal requirement on liability up to infinity dollars. no company will ever give out a policy with unlimited coverage, they always have a limit on what sort of liability they will pay out. If you are a college kid and you have your own insurance, there is no point to having really good coverage. all you need is to cover yourself and the legal limits, unless you have assets. if you only have $400 to your name, nobody can sue you for a million dollars. well they can, but they won't get any more than your $400 you have in your pocket.

if you are a millionaire like sidewayz, you do need good coverage because if you drive like a maniac in your goat and kill someone, they will sure your *** and you can lose everything.

edit: for example, if my net value in assets is $30,000, why would I need to cover myself for $120,000?? it makes no sense, and I'm willing to bet a lot of people spend more money than they need to on insurance.

Full coverage isn't an unlimited payout. It just means that you're covered from all angles. Collision/Comprehensive/uninsured motorist...You get the idea.

OK, here's the deal, my grandmother already said she would help me get a "NEW" car if I really really wanted one, she told me that she would cash out a CD or two and pay for the car in full, hence the reason as to why I would be able to pay liability only, now she has a high 700 to low 800 credit score wich means she'll score a one or two, if I had to finance the car, so the intrest would be dirt cheap, but then I'd have to get coverage, but I'm still debating on exactly what I'm gonna do.
I still can't beleive you buy a new car and not have full coverage on it. If anything were to happen you would be SOL. Here is a car and this dude who basicly did what you are saying, and now all he has is a pile crap that he can't afford to fix.

I have seen this sitting for a long time now, and finally stopped to ask about it today. 1998 Z-28, LS-1, 6 speed, black cloth int., 1LE option (if someone can tell me what that is.), hardtop, it looks to have headers (unless tubular exhaust was factory.) tires are shot, 12000 miles. Was wrecked in '99, and has been sitting ever since. he story is that the owner thought he had insurance, but didn't. Until I can get it up in the air, I can't really assess the damages. It supposedly runs. Any guesses as to the value of parting it out, or rebuilding it?

Thanks, Gary.

well, within the insurance industry, they don't use the term "full coverage" for anything because it doesn't really make any sense. you can be covered for hitting someone, but how much you are covered for is variable and can be anything. just thought I'd let you guys know, I once told someone in insurance that I had full coverage and got the same explanation, and then I thought about it and it made lots of sense.

It's a very widely used term in the insurance industry here. My agent has and will use that term often. Maybe it's you that has never heard of it. California is a completely different country you know.

My agent uses the same term. I have "Full Coverage". It must be something new to baboons in red shorts.[8D]

you and I both know that 99.99% of insurance agents will tell you whatever you want to hear for a sell.
