its a thin white tape that wraps around the threads of the bolts/screws so when you install them they seal better

True, but if you're careful, you can reform the threads, and make it seal. I've done it a few times. But that always leaves the option of either replacing the entire line, or splicing in a new end.

Try the teflon tape first. And TRY to get it to screw in correctly. BE CAREFUL tho. You do NOT want to strip the threads on the radiator.

And it will seal. If I accidentally stripped the radiator threads I would need a new one huh.
