RANT...
here's my story... Im 17 years old. have had my car for almost a year now and i love it, but i really just want a manual car and something a little faster. but mostly, i want a manual and it wouldnt' hurt to upgrade to a GT. i love the sound of those cars with exhausts on them...
i was considering doing stuff to my car but i dont see the point b/c i dont really like it as much as i used to. i told my parents from the start that i wanted a manual and they said no. and now that ive driven my auto and my friends manuals, i'm hooked on the stick-shift.. i feel bored driving around with my auto. i need something to do i feel like..
i figure i can maybe get $8500 for my car as is minus the chin spoiler,sound system and HID's and maybe even the rims.... i just have to convince my parents into letting me get a new car next year... you guys think this is a good idea? i need opinions on my thought bc as of now im done modding my car...i want a GT

That was exactly 100% my situation 4 or 5 months ago. 'Cept I'm 19 and didn't have to get my parents permission. But I say go for it. I did it, and I don't regret it for a second.
And I know all the V6 fanboys are gonna come in and say "It's only a 2v, don't get a GT" blah blah... Don't listen to them. They've probably never driven a GT and are just being pussies. Go GT, dude. It's everything a V6 is but better.

well, you're only 17, so i'd wait a little bit longer before you get rid of it, hehe
but i know how you feel, GTs are pretty fun to drive around and the difference is a lot more than i expected the first time i got into one
(and btw, autos arent that bad.. just wait til you have to get into heavy traffic every day with a manual
)

Start showing your dad GT listings and stuff. I was asked my dad how many of his cars were v6's when he was younger and he said none lol - all of them were 8's. Make him know that it is more realistic on keeping a GT for the next 10-20 years than a 6.
Try some of this crap, it just might work.
