Jesus Chris people, we're talking about rear end ring and pinion (gears), not transmission gears. Manuals and auto use the same rear gears (7.5" for a V6). As stated, 4.10s for an auto, and 3.73s for a manual.

I have a 5.0 as well with 3.55s and they're perfect for me, so the 3.73s are the rough equivilant to those.

I've been getting around 22 MPG, which is about par for an old modified vehicle with gears. A newer V6/V8 will see around a 1-3 mpg drop depending on driving style.
