Correct, I sold my built 4.2 with a blower set up to buy my truck.
When it was at it's best, it was mid 500s and designed to run corners. 85% of my build is suspension/brakes. The rest was aero and working on power to weight ratio.
Up front I ran tubular K member and A arms, Steeda x2 balljoints, 1050lb springs (about twice as stiff as typical lowering street springs), revalved Bilsteins, Roush sway bar, Engery Suspension bushings, Flaming River steering etc... Rear sits on Roush tubular control arms (have South Side Machine boxed LCAs that are adjustable that I swap in sometimes), stock UCA, GT sway, 650lb springs, revalved Bilsteins. Brakes are Roush calipers, SS lines, Hawk pads, Baer 13" drilled / slotted up front and out back.
Def not something that hooks from a dig, but coming into a hard braking corner I can lift a passanger out of the seat and let them hang in the harness.
Right now it's a basically stock 3.8L under the hood. I've been working on a better port job of my M112 and going to the 2.8" pulley again. Power to weight is still pretty fun for a street car right now.

Have you looked at the work Posi on SVTP does? It's a pretty decent price and they seem to be giving pretty good results.
I haven't cruised SVTP for awhile. I'll have to check it out.
The guys at C and M sell it as a complete basic kit. The down side is it's set up for stock fuel system. More fuel and less pulley could go a long way on the 4.0L.
