Well I fit a complete 8.8" in the hatch of my wifes 1993 300ZX 2+2 if that helps.

Ok well here is how you will have to fit it in.

Remove your rear seat and trunk carpet (As to not get them dirty or rip up the seat.)
Remove the pass seat if you want to be extra sure about room but I think it will be ok to leave it in.

Now take the controll arms off of the rear end.
Take the brakes off.
Wrap the thing in plastic.
Stab her in from the pass side door as you will have that seat either removed or all the way forward. The angle of the rear end will be from the Drivers side rear of the trunk to the pass side front of the cab.

Make sure to secure the rear end and use something soft and fluffy to protect interior parts.

The rear end will fit, it will just take some work and at least two guys when loading.

Go grab dads truck and let him drive mustang for a few hours?

I know my dad won't drive my car, it sits too low for him even at stock ride height haha
