Sixxer chat
Whelp its gotta be crazy nice for the 50th anniversary.
Of course we will have a DI 5.0L but I hope we see the first Straight Six in a Mustang since 1980.
I vote for the Falcon XR6 Turbo 4.0 motor thats in the FG but of course up to spec to what it will be in 2014 though the 360hp/393lbft that the 4.0L turbo makes isnt bad either.

Cant forget about FPV's 420hp/417lbft version either of the sixxer.
We need love for the Straight Six again.

Just like all companies in any market, they want to see how much the consumer will actually pay, so each year or sometimes a little more the price goes up.
I feel that the pricing of a Mustang V6, GT and Cobra back in 1996 fit the market well and gave the car great value. Yes of course there are more options and upgrades and standard features but I still feel that price is much better.
I remember reading a breakdown article back in 2009 that a fully optioned glass roofed Mustang GT cost just over $9000 from start to finish, that is ALL of Fords expenses. If someone has that article please post it because I cant find it any longer.
Here is the MSRP and Invoice for 1996
MSRP: $15,180 - $27,580
Invoice: $13,925 - $25,001
MSRP and Invoice for 2011
MSRP: $22,145 - $37,845
Invoice: $21,078 - $34,765
MSRP and Invoice for 2012
MSRP: $22,145 - $40,145 {This price rose for the Boss302}
Invoice: $21,093 - $36,850
lol, this is OUR "When cars were Cheap" gripe like our parents use to say.

Anyways, I could complain all day long how companies are price gouging us but as consumers we will just keep letting it happen because their marketing is good enough.
One day we will hit a point where people will just stop buying new cars because the old ones are still sooo awesome and so much less.

seems like ford is trying to move the mustang from "affordable pony car" to "refined sports car", ala BMW M3.
lets remember how well the T-bird did when moved from 2-seat sport-luxery car to 4 seat family car....
