wrap your camera in toilet paper hahaha. or just get a protective cover. i know what you mean though, thats why ive never taken any pics of the small projects that ive done. might take pics of the suspension as i get that going
But I do want a DSLR for some odd reason.
unless youre really into photog, save $$$ and get a P&S. most take just as good photos as a DSLR in auto mode. most people i see with DSLR's only use auto, thinking its loads better then my old Sony cybershot...until i take a better photo.
No one in my car club has a DSLR so I think some of the guys would appreciate a good picture of their car. Pretty funny that Im the youngest active member, everyone else is 15-20 yrs older than me. And all the cars in the club are 30+ yrs older than mine.
Freelance? well, Ive used photoshoots as payment sometimes- a friend isntalling the GF's lowering springs, and a set of wheels.
mostly just got a idea of what Im doing. (Fink, read this part!)- I spent a lot of time outside, not even with the car, just playing with settings, even on my cybershot. with the A330, i spent a few hours going through the manual and shooting random things to get a feel for each mode. I havent had as much time with that camera, but Its getting there. the best way i can tell you is to do just that- read the manuals, and get a lot of shutter time in.
Hell, I went from this:

*at one point, i thought this was a great shot..)
to this:

To this(SLR)

and this is all unedited(i do a bit of touch up in a lot of my pics- nothing major, i HATE the fake look so many people bring out). nor are these all the best/worst- just what i had on hand at the moment.
.....wtf is on my rocker panel in the last pic?
