they should do a 5.0 LX with a SRA and upgrade the GT to a IRS but im sure fords not that smart so i wont keep my hopes up.

Id be interested in a 5.0 LX, no ford sync, no leather, no glass roof, no sound deadening, hell rear seat delete option, and i want a price around 24.5 or so, not close to 30

Ya know Matt, thats an awesome idea.

It should still have power windows, power locks and thats about it.

The option list could be a de-option list that takes money off for each one selected.
But all the performance options are still able to be added.

Perhaps there could be an option price that has all the extra kush that we dont need deleted like the LX and all the Performance goodies like the Brembo kit and perhaps throw the Boss302 motor in and call it the LX-R

Yeah I know the "R" moniker has been overplayed but I like the sound of LX-R

That way people dont look down on the car for being so heavily de-optioned and see it as a strong point for the overall performance.

Other LX-R only equipment could be lightweight front seats with a composite structure, scrap the heavier more expensive hydrolic clutch for the tried and true manual clutch, have a lightened pedal assy, aluminum 1pc driveshaft, lightweight flywheel, drilled and backcut ring and pinion gears, lighter wheels to go along with the Brembo kit, composite clear or painted clear quarter glass.

Something that I really wish Ford would do is make their own version of the Corvette's "Space Frame" for highly optioned or special Mustangs ie the Boss302, GT500 and LX-R

A photo of the ZR1's space frame.

Its nice to dream I guess.

So back to the 'need for speed' thread..... So you think we finally hit the point where we've maxed out what the 3.8L based motors can do and lost interest? Kind like nobody is really doing anything new with the old 5.0L?

Well mf'ers I woke up this morning with at my gfs sick, unable to drive my car, and without electricity. To add on it we have 8.5" of snow in my gfs yard. Unable to see the road or the ditches. Oh happy days, my only two days off and I'm sick and snowed in.

Thats rough man. And Matt I think its more to the point where people who have these cars don't want to dump tons of money into them. Still have yet to see a KB or Whipple 4.2 right? Also a couple people have twins, or one big single but I don't think they've been maxxed out yet. Just lack of interest/funds to push the envelope.

same here minus the sick part... I took the F150 out a little while ago and it's ridiculous, roads aren't visible, yet every really old person is still determined to drive...

I got a little plan for a KB after I get the 4.2+ M112 on. Im shooting for winter 2012. Im gonan be building the 4.2 this spring/summer, drop it in this winter. get all the bugs worked out in the spring. Rape noobs, then KB that winter.

I will have it done... because the funds are only 2 weeks of work.

I also wanna get another splitport and do a TT 4.2. But that wont happen until my truck has received boost via Tork Tech M112.
