You can get a smaller alt pulley to offset it.

The MotoBlue kit includes a water pump pulley, and I'm a bit skeptical about it, but I don't see how it would cause any issues.

From what I understand the 42% is somewhat detrimental at idle with every electrical component on, but I just had my alternator rebuilt to up the amperage just for it.

Be careful about grandma cars. I had one that drove a Plymouth Fury with a 383, 4 speed when she was in her 80s. It wasn't stock or even close to stock.
