Default NEW HERE, SEEKING INPUT!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

I am currently looking at my first mustang. Its a 1994 3.8 V6 AUTO. It has 202k (not miles..KM's). It is the original owner selling the vehicle. Besides putting new head gaskets in the car a few years ago, this car has not given him any trouble.

What should i look out for? Is there anything I should know? What do you suggest i question him? He has so far been up and honest about it as far as everything he has told me.

Heres a pic of the car.

Thanks.
Brian

Because he is the original owner, i asked about accidents.. He has PROOF that it HAS been rear ended. I also happen to know the people who did the body work on it.. He has pics and it was only minor being the rear bumper had to be replaced. Frame wise, it was all good and all paper work to prove this.. Reg oil changes and stuff is also provided. ALSO the people who have done all the maintenance and head gaskets on the car, is the FORD car lot he bought the car from in 94.

How are the trannies on these cars? Especially AUTO! How are these 3.8 motors? Sludge problems, top end problems.. I would like to get as much info as possible please.

Whats this i read about detonation???????????

And thanks, glad to be here and hope if i get good news, i'll be a member for a good long time..

Other than the head gasket problem, it is a good motor. Have you also asked about/checked the brakes? If the Trans. Filter/fluid has ever been changed? All the fluid, all that stuff.

If the head gaskets have been replaced, and all the fluid/filters maintained properly, and not abused, then ir should be a nice car...

ok excellent.. well hes done reg maintenance on it.. reg oil changes.. i asked and he has done 2 tranny flushes....

Took it for a drive today.. drove nice.. Did these cars come with a shift kit? when you drive really easy it shift very smooth but if you drive it hard, it shifts hard but quick, like no clunk.. just a good hard shift...
