Default Ford Headlight Switch Harness?

Ok, here's the deal, I bought a 2000 mustang awhile back and the dash lights went out a few days ago. No problem there right, just a headlight switch? NOOOOO!! ANOTHER headlight switch harness burned up so I have to splice another harness in AGAIN. I just did this to my old 94 mustang I used to have, so what's the deal with ford and there lousy harnesses, you would think six years later ford would have this issue figured out. I talked to the mustang wrecker guy I get parts from, and he says that so many mustangs have burnt harnesses, he said out of every 10 mustangs he gets at least 7 or 8 that have bad headlight switch harnesses. Has anyone else had this issue, or is just dumb luck on my part. Anyway, I'm done bitchn' just wanted to let you guys know if you are having problems with dash lights, inspect the harness, it may have a burn spot, I will post a pic in a little while of my old 95 harness, and the 2000 harness.

Yeah man, I love fords and dodges, but they all have there flaws, at least it's not a chevy, there a bitch to work on. Here's those pics.

The first one is from the 95, the second is the 2000, you can see on the 2000 that the #37 fuse is the issue on the harness, which controls the adjustable illumination. I just removed the fuse for now so the harness doesn't start smoking, which tripped me the f out. Nothing like a smoking harness and a glowing headlight switch (the coils in the switch were glowing in the matter of a few seconds). You can see in the last two pics where the arm makes contact with the coils, those coils were heating up QUICK!!

It's the harness, the damn thing was smoking and melting right before my eyes in a matter of seconds on the exact plug that attaches to the #37 fuse(adjustable illumination), the fuse is fine it didn't pop. It's usually a short when u pop fuses IMMEDIATELY. You can see in the pic where it was melting the harness and smoking FAST.

do you have anything electrical in your car that isn't stock?

If your radio aftermarket illumination is hooked to the wrong wire it will do that, and it depends on the radio illumination polarity, sometimes you can;t use it.

No, the car is completely bone stock, I have heard about that issue from another site, can't quite remember which one, but that's not the issue, stock ford tape deck and seperate cd player.
