Split port swap

Default Split port swap

So yesterday the 98 blew the passenger side head gasket, I need the car back on the road ASAP so im taking the 3.8 out of the wrecked 2000 that I was going to use for my 68 and throw it into the 98. Dont look to be too hard. Going to get the 98s motor out tomorrow if possible.

Hoping to see a little more power by swapping to the split port.

Keep the 98's exhaust manifolds! You should feel a huge increase in power with the switch

Won't he have to swap ECU's and instrument clusters? the pre-1999 clusters were gear driven and the 99+ are all electronic

shouldnt. Ill know Fri. Both motors are pulled, I just have to bolt the new.motor to my manual (it had an auto) and go. I did have to modify the fuel rail for the 98s return style. Ill post results when I get it in the car.

The car is running, still a few bugs to work out. I NEED A DIPSTICK!! The one on the 00 was broken, and my help broke the one on my 98.

Headed to the exhaust shop for duals friday.
