Default I need to take some panels off my 1997 Mustang, but I'm scared.

Its a 1997 Mustang Coupe with an automatic transition.

I just got a killer audio system, and I want to wire it up but I'm scared that something will brake when I'm trying to pop a panel off. -for example, the step below the door I need to remove to wire the battery cable from the front to my second battery in the trunk.

Also, the plastic shield under the gear selector stick it stuck open and will not spring back into place, and I cannot see what gear I am in as the orange thing does not move with the stick.

Basically I would like some kind of manual telling to how to remove interior panels.

Thanks so much!

Grab them and lift up. They pop right off.

I'm trying to remove the panels on each side of the rear seats, I took one off, but now 2 out of the 3 clips are broken, is there some special way to do this?

Harbor Freight has rubber and plastic tools to help take interior parts off, but as Matt already said, they are an easy lift and snap out style.
