Default Service Engine Soon light

I have a 2002 5-speed Mustang GT. The Service Engine Soon light came on. It was driving fine, but was due for an oil change. Had the oil changed, and the air filter replaced. The light didn’t go off. Disconnected the battery for a few minutes and then reconnected it. Light stayed off for several miles, then came on again. Car sounds and runs fine. Any other ideas to get light to go off and STAY OFF?

Yea I know what you need to do. Take it to a shop or someplace like autozone that can read the codes it is setting and then fix what the code says is wrong. That light is coming on because it is failing a self test at some point in the key cycles. After it fails so many times the light comes on and a code is set. By disconnecting the battery all you do is clear the memory of the computer and then when the key cycles again it fails. Its probly a sensor of some sort. 02 sensor or throttle position , it could be just about any one of a hundred different things.
