Finished the trunk lid and the speaker deck. Sounds great. We'll see how it holds up over time.

YES! and I don't know haw to make it go away!

Glad to hear it worked for you also!

I think it might be the light bulbs or something in the reflector things on the side of the bumper.
Actually i think the reflectors create a different noise on both sides but it is hardly even heard, plus its not an annoying rattling type sound more of a soft clicking sound. But under the spare tire there is a louder rattle im going to have to investigate more as i get the time but i ran out of time today.

But thanks so much for this cheap find, the sound is now perfect on the inside with the trunk rattles gone. Now all i get is awkward looks when the bass is really loud and on the outside from under the car it sounds really annoying.

yeah ur right. I just started to notice that vibration. The reflectors are more of a thumping or swooshing sound. HMMM...I wonder what it is?

I went into Home Depot and could only find a adhesive roll of sealant for sealing roofs...but it's listed as a CANCER CAUSING material...is that the same stuff you are talking about???

Home Depot doesn't carry it so I don't think so but it IS used for roofing. Peel and seal is made of the same materials that most products like Dynamat are made of. It has a tar/rubber back with an aluminum foil front. Im not sure about the cancer claim but its the same material in most products and I doubt it would be used if it was really that harmful; doesn't everything cause cancer nowadays lol. It does have less sound dampening material then dynamat but you can double up if you need to and still be WAY under the brand names cost wise.

Heres the link... http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...17-81326-PS625

Check out the FatMat on ebay, I lined my trunk with the stuff, very good stuff, bought some more to do the rest of the inside, under all the trim side panels and floor. http://stores.ebay.com/Sounds-Dead-Sound-Deadener

This pretty good stuff, not as expensive as dynamat.

Well heres and update. It reached 115 here in the desert and as my tires melted to the pavenment so did the product off the trunk. I went to Tweeter and bought a 4 sqft. roll of Dynamat (yes what is was originally trying to avoid) for $35. Not a bad price at all. Its called the wedge pack. After some playing around I found four spots that if dynamated will eliminate all ralttles from the trunk lid. Ill post pics. asap. So in the end i did use Dynamat, but I figured out the weak spots to decrease the usage by 75%. $35 is not bad, and I only used 4 sqft.
