modding question... take it slow ?
In just the performance aspect of the modding bug, i can't ever see their not being any reason to slow down. I mean their is always if your really hungry a ENGINE SWAP[sm=guilty.gif], maybe the 5.4L GT500 motor [8D] oooo that just gives me goosebumps How bout you?

i fully rebuilt the 5.4 lightning motor (which is the exact same going into the gt500) and i put it in a cop car
I've learned with my 02 gt that even if you think you are to the point of being done that in a very short time you will realize your wrong. Once you start there is no stopping point because there is always something bigger or better than what you have already done. I don't even want to think about how much money i have already put into my 02 and i already have a new list started of the next round of mods. Between suspension mods and some dressup stuff i could still spend a few grand easy. I was about to start looking at cai and tunes for the wifes 06 but now she is talking about wanting to have me put one of the vortec or procharger superchargers on it. Got to start doing my research on what these v6's can handle and who sells a nice complete kit with the best tune. It's a never ending sickness.
V6s are actually stronger than V8s, and the new stock V6 can handle up to, I think, 500 hp or so, but I would still get forged interals for a T/C or S/C, ya know, just to be sure.
I don't plan on doing anything to extreme with it. It is the wifes car and she wants to keep it suitable for daily driving in the summer. From what i have looked at so far it looks like with either the vortec or the procharger, depending on boost, that low 300's all the way to the upper 300's is pretty attainable. I find that rather impressive considering the 99-04 4.6 2 valves were making around 370-400 with 8-10lbs of boost. I know from experience with the 4.6 in my 02 that they will easily handle 400 on a good tune with no problems. From what i have seen it seems that 400 is not an issue on the 4.0 either but i would probably be more content to keep it around 350. Basically it's all in how good the tune is. With my gt i will only deal with Modular Powerhouse when it comes to anything tune or engine related. I haven't talked to them yet to see what they may be able to do for me with the v6. Getting the supercharger setup isn't an issue, just finding a tune that i trust.
I've gotta say...I have the best wife ever!
It was her idea for me to buy the v6 convert (maybe because she plans on using it more than I!).
She's all with me doing the mods - I just put a lightbar and an AFE intake, picking up front and rear GT bumpers this weekend, going to duals in 2-3 weeks once ythe parts come in.
It's like Christmas for me...forget the Father's Day gifts...I'm good for along time...now if only i can get those Shelby CS66's..!!!
