Default New to the boards

I have been "Lurkin" on this site for about two weeks and officially signed on and registered today! I have really enjoyed reading all the various post and finally am ready to post. First off, like a lot of fellow v6 er's I didnt get the v8 but want the v8 look. My first Car was a 88 GT but I have never had a convertible so since I had to choose between one or the other I chose the vertible. To all of those who are wondering about cutting your bumper to go dual....it's o.k. I had a local shop cut mine for me and I will have to admit that I hadnt been this worried about getting something cut since I had my son circumsized. [:-]It went great!! Looks great!! Had another turbo put on connected it just past the Y and am ready to go. The next thing I want to do is correct the mistake of not getting the whole pony package. I have the spoiler and stuff but not the fog lights. I'm not interested in the 17's or 18's just the grill and lights. I dont trust myself to do much more than change the oil, certainly not run any wires. I also want the factory switches if poss. So is this something I can have the dealer do after the fact...will they think I am a dork....could a collision shop order the parts and do it?? Couple more things, I know this is a long post, Does anyone have aftermarked fogs ??
I havn't seen any in pictures, probably would look ricey anyway...whats everyone opinion on painted brakes..again too ricey??
Thanks for a place like this where I can read and ask and not feel like a dork

Welcome aboard!

I'd actually get my calipers painted black/red in a heartbeat. Not ricey at all.

You'll probably run into trouble finding someone to install your fogs for you. Collision centers... definitely no. They MIGHT put the grille and and charge you out the ***, but they're not about to wire the thing up.

If you need a do-it-yourself for GT bumpers, I posted a quick tutorial further down this board. Something you and your son can do together (assuming he's big enough now).

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to learn about improving your car. There are some great folks here, ready to help us out. And, if you can change your oil you can swap your grille out. It's really easy to upgrade to the pony grille with fogs. Contact Kevin at clevparts@aol.com for the parts prices. He's a Ford parts manager that gives good discounts to forum members. I got my grille kit from an outfit that is no longer in business, but you can have Kevin put together the same kit for less. By using the search engine on this forum you can find previous posts that tell you how. Good luck, and welcome aboard!

My pleasure! Kevin is great to order from. I purchased my GT rear sway kit from him alot cheaper than kits offered on Ebay. It included every bracket and OEM nut and bolt. He even enclosed a full 05 Mustang wall poster as a freebie. It's hanging on the wall of my study. Contact him!

I call any generic muffler that looks like the one one the v6 a turbo I didnt mean a Turbo as in boost...Sorry if I sound like a dork. They just connected the pipe after the y. I still may not be saying what I mean, but the new Dual look is great. If I can figure out how to post pics I will
