Dualing up

RE: Dualing up
I've read discussions about a "break in" period. Don't know anything about that - could be valid or could be you're just getting used to the sound. Dunno....but the GT takeoffs I got had about 8000 miles on them when I bought em, so they should have been "broken in"

Some old timers told me they used to get the glasspacks really hot and then shoot water in them and it would break the glass and make a really loud nice sound.

Interesting. Well, this may be more about expectations then. If you were expecting a low bellowing hemi-type roar, you're not going to get that no how, no way. It is a V6 after all! But no, in my case it wasn't a matter of getting used to it, there was a very distinct difference as the mufflers seasoned. Mine may have initially been worse because since I had installed one muffler to begin with, by the time the duals were installed I had one broken in and the other new. But it now sounds very throaty for a V6. I took it in to get the oil changed a few weeks back and the guy that drove my car around said "I thought this was a V6 until I started it up, then I KNEW it was a V8!!" I told him it was indeed a V6 and he didn't believe me!
