RE: Replacing Stock Headunit
you are going to need to buy the adapter for the unit to fit into the car, i know that there is one available for the explorers that fit to our cars, there is a thread about them in the 2005-2006 section, look a page back

RE: Replacing Stock Headunit
I replaced my stock unit as well, and I have the directions to remove the stock. I'm still a newbie to this forum, but it looks like you cannot upload *.pdf's. I've e-mailed them to your AOL account. In addition, you are likely going to need need a wiring harness (adapter) to connect the stock wires to your after-market radio. Navigate scosche.com for parts. Good luck with the project.

RE: Replacing Stock Headunit
I also have the diagrams which were helpful. It's best to start by removing the middle console... you will need the wiring harness & the dash kit... your head unit should have a cage which will make it much easier to mount. have fun!

RE: Replacing Stock Headunit
If i use the wiring harness that came with the DDX-6019, i will only get sound out of my 4 speakers, not the door subs correct? Ill need the 5521 wiring harness in order to utilize the stock amp and subs??? Anyone know if they had experience finding this harness at their local audio or performance shops...? I have a friend whos going to install this tomorrow for me and i just want to go shopping ahead of time to see if i can find what i need..??
