Default GT Take-Off Wheels/Tires or Tokico D Spec

I'm torn between springing for the Tokico D spec struts right now (I have the stock 16 wheels/tires) or going for GT take-offs. Keep in mind I'm putting in my rear anti sway bar which is going to put some more stress on the already weak stock wheels' gripping ability. Idealy I would spring for 18 inch wheels later on with some wider rubber, but if I were to go gt take-offs now I'd like to get some wider tires for them later on. With that in mind how would you all say the performance I could get out of the stock gt rims with wider tires (also what would be the widest I could get on there 265ish?) vs. say 18x9 inch rims with nice tires, keeping the price difference in mind. Thanks.

To me it would depend on the color of your car if I got the gt takeoffs or not. In my opinions the silver color of the gt takeoff wheels only looks good on certain color cars.
