Computer Flash/Tuner question
Its actually restricted by the throttle body, and will be until you get forced induction, or rework the pistons to get dif compression ratio, but what do i know, im just an ASE certified mechanic.
All those resistors on ebay do is trick the car into thinkin its cold, so it dumps extra fuel, not NEAR enough for it to make up for the extra air you have coming in. Most intakes that require a tune add between 8-16% more fuel. Those resistors trick the comp into adding 2-4% more fuel. If you get a dyno tune, sure you can add tons of fuel because they can program it into the ECU. But then ur gas mileage is going to be ****, if thats fine with you, more power too you, but defeats the purpose of saving money on the intake when u have to buy more gas. Just like i tell customers at my shop, pay me a little now or a lot later. Still holds true for this, saving $180 now, is going to cost you the 380 for the tuner, plus a dyno tune, plus the extra gas. Its probably still cheaper to just buy a K&N intake that doesnt require a tune.

Good point you have there.....guess I have to do some contemplating on what I want to do.
By the way, I wasn't being condenscending by mentioning I am an engineer........I am probably one of the few engineers in the world that hardly know anything about cars.

omer, we live on earth, not manufacturerclaims planet lol.
K&N is just under 8rwhp without a tune. a tune is good for lets call it... 10rwhp, so 18rwhp?
C&L with a tune is good for i think 21rwhp? so if 3rwhp is worth the extra hundred or two, then go for it. But i was just letting you know about the K&N because i will be selling mine soon, and it will be under $100, thats cheap horsepower there. Ill be going turbo, and wont have use for an intake anymore. (and i was just bein an *** with the ase statement lol, lots of engineers claim to know lots bout cars, sorry)

I get what your saying now, and I think you have convinced me to go with the K&N.......when do you think you will be selling yours? Since I am going to take off what I put on, I would rather just swap it out and not have to put it back to stock to take it apart then...the other key is coming up with cash to give you instead of credit like I am funding my mods right now...so I have a payment plan...
