Ok I finally got a chance to post about my shaker 500. It works perfect just like my clarion in my other car. I haven't had any skipping and I've driven over series of bumps while listening to mp3s. My car was built 5/10/2006 and I'm not really planning on taking out any of the audio equipment. This sounds great! Also this car seems to not ride as rough as the one I test drove before buying it. I'm sure my other car rides more rough than the mustang, so if you are looking to get a head unit I'd recommend a clarion.

Skipper 500 is more like it. Mine skipped like hell until I took it to the dealer and showed them the TSB.

Mine was skipping today. Unbelievable that an option upgraded stereo is worse than my single disk pos in my ford ranger. That truck rides like a brick and the cd doesn't skip at all. I'm going to give it a couple of weeks and then try to get the dealer to fix it.

I have this same problem. You have to just leave it alone and let it turn itself off. Once it does that you just turn it back on and it works fine. It's also only done it twice to me.

Supposadly it plays mp3s, mine wont though. I've tested several cds that all worked in my portable cd mp3 player as well as a few cars that I tried them in..

Also my shaker500 skips like mad. I'll talk to them next time I'm at the dealership (I guess tomorrow since I'm hopefully getting my bullits on)

I had the same problem once -- but only once so far. I was taking it in for the exhaust TSB and a problem with the window and of course by the time I got to the dealership, it was working as if nothing had happened so a "NTF" situation.

ORIGINAL: Blk06Pony

Mine doesn't skip. It just decides to lock up like a windows computer. The radio will be on, no volume, non-responsive buttons. Then shuts off and won't come back on. half hour later, it comes on and acts normal. Has happened twice since I had the car and I know it won't happen if I take it to the dealer. I'll get the NTF (no trouble found), see you later routine.

Anyone experience anything like this from their radio?

I havn't had much problem with skipping, but hate loading and unloading the cd's. When you eject, you have to wait for it to move, then soon as you take the disk out it will move to the next disk, press load disk, wait for it to move again, wait for it, wait for it, stick it in quik!! Man I hate this thing. I shoulda kept my pioneer deck that I sold to my bro. I purchased most of my songs in .wma format which worked in the pioneer but not the shaker, so I either have to burn a regular audio cd or convert all my songs one at a time to .mp3. My bro. still hasn't installe the deck yet, so maybe he will sell it back to me. kinda been waiting for mine to start skipping so I can take it back then sell the new one on ebay.

Mine did some funky tracking a couple of times, but not enough to make me want to complain. One thing I am annoyed with is the harshness of the high-end audio on FM. CDs sound fantastic, but FM has some sort of processing that I don't care for in the treble range. It lacks clarity.
