Default Ford Racing Muffler Install Question

Just got my Ford Racing muffler today, and taking a quick look under the car, I have the following questions

1. The existing muffler appears to be held on by 3 rods into rubber dampers and one bracket that is bolted to the car. The new racing muffler appears to only be held on by two long rods? Why? How can this be enough if for used 3 and a bolt?

2. On the muffler inlet pipe that connects to the exhaust pipe, there is a tiny slit with an offset and on the other side, a 3/4" D shaped cutout. Is this standard? It just looks badly cut and quickly ground... just wondering if somebody else might have had it and cut it and then sent it back.

3. The supplied clamp has a little "I-Beam" looking piece over the bolt in the clamp. Where is this positioned when tightening the clamp. Good Grief the pictures supplied with the muffler are just aweful and useless.

4. Step 2 of the installation says to "Repeat step 1 for the installation of the left (dirver) side muffler assembly". HUH? There is no left driver side muffler. What?

5. On the existing muffler, there is a copper colored band around the muffler inlet pipe. What is this? Looks like some sort of official seal.

Default RE: Ford Racing Muffler Install Question

1...that's how my MRT is too, don't know I installed anyways lol

2 That's what mine had too, looks to be standard. at least if I'm reading you correctly, it sounds like your describing what I just saw on mine.

3. I don't know for sure, but I positioned mine roughly how the old clamp was positioned. I did rotate it a little for ease of access though

4 Don't worry bout the left side.

5 I had the little band too, but mine was starting to blacken from heat. It's attached to the old muffler though so I didn't worry bout it.
