It depends on what setup you are buying as to what you need. If you are just buying a set of mufflers you will need GT pipes or a shop to bend a drivers side pipe for you. You will also need the pieces that the hangars attach to from a ford dealer(or a shop can weld up the mufflers like I had my shop do). In the attached picture I did a quick scetch of the different types of exhaust. You'll notice how the stock exhaust has a "Y" intersection at the top. This is where the pipes come from the headers / cats. The pipes turn into a single pipe that goes back to the single muffler. The JBA dual setup you but includes pipes and an additional Y-pipe that splits back out to accomodate the dual mufflers. The custum setup uses either GT takeoff pipes or a second custom bent pipe for the driver side, along with some kind of crossover(an "H" crossover in the picture). You can buy either buy an "H" or "X" pipe, or have the shop fabricate an "H" pipe for you. Since you have FI, you will probably want the true duals instead of Y-pipes so that you get a better flow/more power.

That kit comes with a Y adapter that bolts on after the stock Y pipe. I used to have it. You can install that kit yourself (burdweiser has a good step by step on the install, look at his web site), but if you want to go X or H, you have to have one fabbed up at a shop. Keep in mind my gain of converting this kit to a X pipe was 2HP, which is arguable on a dyno jet. Sound was the same on both configurations.

ok.. so just by the tru dual kit and install myself..
IS a tune required.. if i order next week and say 1 week to get here.. i would be almost another week before im heading to the dyno again to get my tune issue worked out... i dont want to pay 150 for them to install it if i can do it myself

Yea, you can do this kit or the JBA kit yourself, its a nice kit as well. No tune is required for exhaust. Not sure where you are stationed, but there should be a hobby garage on base with a lift. Its much easier with a lift.
