I would like to update my gears and I hear that Ford Racing is cutting back on 3:73 gears and I was wondering if 4:10 would be ok on a V6 automatic. Also I was wondering if anyone with a automatic installed the 4:10 on their car.

 

if it were me i would go with 4.10s but i think ive heard people saying that 373s workbeat for our autos

I don't think I would enjoy 4.10's on my auto. The 3.73's pull plenty hard and don't increase the rpm's at cruising speeds that much.

Motive also makes the gears.

Are you planning to get FI?
If so 3.73's, and if you do a lot of long distance traveling, do the same.
If not, I like 4.10's, but that's just my opinion, everybody's different about gears.
