Default Flowmaster Axle-back Exhaust 2005-2006 Mustang V6 17421

Does anyon have one of these Flowmaster mufflers on their 2005 or 2006 V6 Mustang? Here is a link so you can see what I am asking about.

A friend has one for sale. He put it on his 2005 V6 Mustang and claims that it sounded bad and was too loud. I don't want to buy it and install it if it sounds bad. I've heard that it takes some time for a new muffler to break in and sound good. Any truth to that?

Yes there is truth to having a muffler being broken in and sounding better....As far as sounding bad, well, it is all opinion on what sounds good or bad. I mean, guys in rice mobiles love their sounds but I think the sound friggin gross/dumb but that is my opinion.

I think that flowmasters sound really nice, a single sounds good too compared to the stock one, again my opinion. It depends though what kind of sound you are looking for. I went for more of a look/sound so I have duals. If you want a single that is REAL loud, I suggest an MRT, I have heard these both on the soundclip page and firsthand and they sound very very cool.

If I were you, I would do some research, listen to some soundclips, read some reviews and then decide on what you want. But that is just me Good luck on your decision!!!!

i got the single flowmaster exhaust. and IMO it is a great bang for your buck. the sound it awsome, granted it wasnt as deep as i thought it would have been when i first installed it, but after the first 300 or so miles, it really opened up and a few people asked me if i had a 5.0 under the hood. lol. i was like nope man she is a six. a 4.0 six to be exact.lol. so yea, i think its awsome, great price for what it does.
