Default Paint the muffler?

Just wondering if anybody does this. The stock mufflers look kinda gross. Is there a paint that will adhere for more than a week, or is there really no point? If possible, I'd like to give the rear face a clean chrome look.

To hide the back face, I used a black fireplace paint, you get them at the fireplace store. This is heat resistant and I sprayed it about 6 months ago without any issue.

The best is if you have the GT bumper, it covers much more of the rear face of the 2 mufflers. There again, I'll paint the 2 gt mufflers rear face side black also when I install them in a few weeks.

Yeah, I'm starting to think black would be better. Thanks for the tips.

Before the GT take-off was installed, I painted many of the undercarriage and muffler parts with EASTWOOD's flat black, high temp engine paint. I brushed it on, mostly the gas tank and the exhaust pipe tip and surrounding part under the rear. You need a paint for the muffler that can handle high heat.

Eastwood sells silver exhaust paint. I have it on my Monte Carlo SS show car. It has survived a little over one salty winter. It still looks great. Unfortunalty the right way to do it is spray it before you put the exhaust on the car.
