Nice write-ups on the new Shelby GT 500 in the July issues of Motor Trend and Automobile magazines. We know the numbers, but they bear repeating.

500 HP
480 ft. lbs. torque
Observed times by Motor Trend (slightly better than Automobile):
0-60, 4.5 sec.
1/4 mile, 12.7 @ 116 mph.
60-0 mph, 110 ft.

They got it to a top speed of 157.5 mph before the speed limiter kicked in (factory set at 155), but they calculated 175 based on rpm redline.

I'd do anything for one to be sitting in my garage. No wait, the last time I said that I woke up in Vegas with my eyebrows shaved, a French poodle licking my face and a taste in my mouth that...Enough about that. I'll have to keep dreaming.

 

MM&FF did a good write up as well. They said itw as the most expensive Mustang, after the SVT Cobra R and the fastest, but also weighs the most, both in Coupe and 'Vert.
I'd buy one, but not for 50k
Also it's limited for the first year only, they said SVT is promising 8k units a year at least. The previous SVT's, Cobra in 03/04 they said, were 16k first year and 4k second year, or something close to that.
