When I bought my V6, I had 2 things I was looking for in my next car. I was driving an acura integra.

1. I wanted it to be a *little* faster than what i had, and the v6 mustang is plenty faster.
2. I wanted a warranty. No more $2,000 surprises.

I got both, for much less than I could have paid for anything else, the fact that I love the styling, and color, interior, and just about everything else about it is a bonus.

Just think - for 20k - warranty included, you can have a Kia Optima, Honda Civic (not SI), Dodge Neon, Chevy Cobalt, base model mitsubishi, or about anything else that mundane. It made great sense. But, the fact is, ewverytime you get on the gas in ANY car you own, be it a GT or not, once you get used to how quick it is, you wish it would be just a little bit quicker.

It's happened to me with every car I have owned, and I have had some pretty quick cars.

Why buy anything at all and make it better? More your own? Unique?

Who in their right mind would buy a fixer upper house... spend money on new paint, tile, carpets when they could have bought a brand new house?

Why buy last years model computer and put in a bigger, faster hard drive and more memory?

Who would buy a lump of clay and mold it into a snazzy pot or vase or bunny when you could just trot down to the store and pick one up?

Who would climb Everest when they have a lovely, colorful tri-fold brochure of the summit in their hands?

Why work to improve one's emotional or spiritual being? To better oneself? To become who you've always meant to become?

EXACTLY!!!! Finally someone who understands! I for one am always content with exactly what I get. It's great going through life this way, everything is perfect! I don't even mow the yard, I mean hell it's going to grow right back anyway! Take a bath, who needs it? I'm reminded of the famous quote "SPEED IS ONLY TEMPORARY". Cleanliness is temporary, so why bother? Food is temporary, it doesn't stay in the system. So why eat?

Oh, I've got to relate a story on this one too (great post by the way!) My wife and I went to Yellowstone on vacation one year. We love to explore and go hiking, that was just our kind of vacation. One of our first stops was a waterfall, the trail started at the midpoint of the fall and the hike was about 1.5 miles to get to the bottom. 1.5 miles of gently sloped, paved walkways mind you. You could not even see the base of the waterfall until you got to the end of the trail and it was unbelievably majestic. The sound of it, and the mist hanging in the air, it brought shivers to the spine. So we hike back up and there's a couple of carloads of people there (not together). The first rolls their window down and asked how it was. We just gushed about how it was one of those moments you'll always remember, went on and on about the beauty, etc. Then they asked how far it was. We told them. They nodded, rolled up the window and drove off. The 2nd car overhead, and they left as well! Now you have to wonder why the hell they drove all the way to friggin' Yellowstone if they're just going to look at it all from a car window. That scenario repeated itself many times at other spots while we were there too. Different people sure have different viewpoints of what it is like to experience life. Some people are content to blindly drive what Ford (GM, Toyota, etc.) made for John Q. Public. Others are a little more adventurous and want to make it their own.

i like being the underdog to me buying a v6 and moding it so it can hang with faster cars is way cooler than just buying a gt . anyone can do that.

Green Machine is write to a certian point. The people that put on the SC and turbos on here are people who like to be new and different. If they really wanted speed they would buy a bike and do 170+ or buy a GT. The point is, they didnt want the GT, they wanted a sleeper or Just love working on cars. I will soon be modding my car when the funds come available but for fun, not to beat a GT or the Famous 350 z post. I just love working on my car and saying "Yup, I did that!" or "Yup that 06 mustang is MINE!".

Just my $0.02 is all.

I love the satisfaction I recieve looking at my car and the mods I have done to it. I can say "yup, I installed that myself". Also, rygenstormlocke is right-our cars are just as fast as the famed/loved/respected 5.0 fox bodies.
