Default Gears!

Im going with the 3.73 gears for my 06 mustang and I was wondering if
any of you all have got the gears and T-lok combo from RPM outlet?
What did you guys think. Did everything work well? And one other question. Is gear whinning normal...?
I've heard alot of complaints.
thanks guys.

Ya... and how many of you ended up with gear whine and how many had no whine.

Honestly, gear whine depends on the installer. Though I hear the motives are tougher to install without gear whine, however it is doable with a good installer. To play it safe go with Ford Racing gears, they are softer and less suspectable to gear whine. I've had both motives and FR's and the FR's definitely whine a lot less.

If you look for an installer to put in the 3.73's, do you have to inquire as to whether they have special tools to get the gear mesh correct, or is it done the old fashion way with the old gear paint you put on the teeth to see where contact is being made?? Do you just have to be careful, or do you need the skill of a heart surgeon to do this right?

Hey Guys,

Can any of you tell me "how much" did your rides wake up with the gear change? All of my research suggests 3:73's if you are runnin' a stock 4.0. I don't want to spend the cash if it's not going to wake the car up that much...

Bob
