Default Aftermarket head unit

Hey everyone. This is my first post, but I actually bought my car over a year ago and I just love it. I've been reading this for a while and you all seem pretty cool and helpful. I have an '05 legend lime V6 auto with tan interior and the shaker 500 system. My problem is I put in an aftermarket head unit and when my car sits for a while, I turn it on and the subwoofers let out a loud pop. I wrote back to the place I ordered it from and they said I needed a voltage regulator on the amp turn-on lead. Then I went to a local car audio shop and they said that didn't make sense cause it should all be 12 volts. The shop said that it was just the cheap factory amps holding power after they turn off. Now I don't know if that was just them trying to get me to buy a new amp from them or what because if it is the amps that are holding power why would they work fine with the factory cd player. Just posting this to see if anyone else has this problem or if anyone knows how to fix it because I know a lot of you have put new stereos in your stangs. Thanks for any feedback on this. I might just have to live with it until I can get a new system, I just don't want it to end up damaging my speakers for now.

a "capacator" should do the trick, but it is LIKELY that if they are cheap amps that they hold a charge and discharge when u turn it on or off.

i would take it to another place and get a 2nd opinion tho.

is this an aftermarket amp and/or sub or factory? if its factory you might as well replace the amp and/or subs for better sound.

It is the factory amps. Sorry for not including that info. I would like to replace the amps and subs for better sound but money is an issue right now.
