Default Diy exhaust cut-out question?

I am thinking of puting an exhaust cut-out on my car instead of duals. I think it would be cool to just be able to flip a switch and go from my single exhaust to an open exhaust. My question is do you think I could use a heat riser exhaust valve, take off the heat spring and make it open manually with a cable or a solenoid? Also, do these valves close off enough for this aplication? I was looking at electric valves and they are around $200. I am planning on doing this when I get my body kit installed and just run the open exhaust pipe to the new hole available. Or should I just go with duals? Any thoughts on the subject?

For a little less than $200 you can buy 2 electric exhaust cutouts which will do what you want to do.
