Default disaster fixed

hey guys you may of read my oil change disaster post and people were saying how i had to pay a bunch $ to tow it to the dealer than 100 dollars to get the transmission fluid replaced with their special tool. and how it was impossible to do it ourselves. well i went under the car unbolted the pan itself filled it up and bolted it back on! so instead of being a coward and wasting $ taking it to ford. i did it my self and it worked out great. i took it out for a test drive and it felt as good as ever. and there are no leaks.i sure stuck it to the man (ford and the jerk who said it was impossible for us to do it ourselfs)

I hope your not refering to me... I was just stating what I had heard.
Never said it was impossible to do it ourselves, just that its easier if you had the tool.
I would hate to see a 'Stang damaged because something was not done properly.I think that its great you
were able to refill the tranny without having to limp it to Ford and pay $$$

Jeez..

helped me. thanks

Yeah I read about that but didn't comment casue I had no knowledge on the situation. Pretty f'ing lame that people have to harass you when you've got an honset problem. But that's great you got it fixed, I'd be doing backflips!

yeah thats a pretty big scam by ford to get us to come in to the dealer which will damage our car if we need it to be fixed.

Oh ok. Just wondering
Thats really impressive that you were able to refill the tranny! Sucks that Ford couldn't
make it easier for us though.

I have a stick so I`m dumb on this subject but what is the problem you guys are talking about? Is it impossible to check the trans fluid with a dipstick or is there none?

no dipstick on the automatics. But yes, how did you fill it up all the way without the tool. The pan itself probably only holds... 3 quarts max, but a drain and fill on the trans takes closer to 6 i believe. Sure you stuck it the man, but is it worth the chance of overheating ur transmission and burning it out, then it not being covered under warranty because you tampered with it (they will know if you called with ur name and car, they document it, at least most dealers do)
