Default just had electrical trouble...HELP!!!

Ok so i just got in my car and went for a drive. I started with a half tank of gas (93 octane). I started out and shifted from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and as i was shifting to 4th, my gas gauge dropped from half to completely empty. and then the computer thing that came with the pony package said that i had less than 1 mile to empty. the car was running fine. so it scared me and i went straight to the gas station for fear of running out of gas. I filled up and was only able to put 7 gallons in the tank. I started the car up and everything was fine. What gives?

Just a side note, I just installed a c&l intake and a 93 tune a few days ago. and just before i went to drive, there was a super bad rain storm with a lot of wind. Do you think my intake or tune is causing the problem? or did water get in the intake? It just scared me. Any ideas would be helpful!

Default RE: just had electrical trouble...HELP!!!

I have had that happen several times in my 2000 Corvette and in my wife's 2000 Durango. It scared the hell out of me the first time it happened to the Corvette. On the Corvette forum I was told it was caused by high sulpher gas that messed up the sending unit in the gas tank. It usually happens after or during a trip south. Once in the Corvete on a trip to Florida and in the Durango when our son-in-law drove it to Mississippi. Since it started in the Durango it still happens once in a while. Are you using a national gas or a cut rate gas?
