Default Noise from trunck or back left side

I am hearing a noise which appears to be emanating from the trunck / back left side.... it almost sounds like something vibrating against metal at a fast rate. This usually takes place when I let the RPM drop low in 4th or 5th gear.... [:@] It is very annoying!!

Has anyone experienced or discover the source of the rattle?

Thank you.

i think i read a while back that on some cars, ford missed a screw in the back left in some part of the trunk. its just an annoyance, you dont need to worry about your rear axle falling out or anything though

you should definitly take it back to your dealer and complain about it, they will fix it for free. in the next few months you may find a few more quirks with your car because ford was a bit sloppy, but they can all be repaired at the dealer.

Thanks I'll look around and see if I see a missing screw in the plastic trim.

Like when you don't downshift soon enough and hit the gas and the car takes a while to speed up. During that period prior to speeding up is when it happens.

sorry If I am not explaining it quite right.

One of the plastic screws came out in my trunk but I never hear any noise. I just screw the SOB back in every so often.

One quick check - did you make sure your jack is planted securely and your spare tire is bolted down tight?
