all the techs at my work say this years motor is completly different design from the calogne motor... the 4L in the explorers and etc.. they are the bored out same thing block whatever.. the ones for our mustangs even though carries the name.. its a whole new motor all together

complete new cast, new engeneering, new everything from SQ1

Thank you. I'm not a moron fellas.... be it the same block from previous 4.0s or not, its still "brand new" to the mustang...

some of u guys took the words "brand new" in the wrong context...(maybe i should have clarified, my bad)... regardless of whether or not the 4.0 block has been around, it has never been in a Mustang... I'm aware that the 4.0 has a history, as Doug from Bamachips has been tuning 4.0s for years now. The fact of the matter is that the 4.0 has never put out the same numbers as it has in the mustang, and yes i understand you cant really compare a 4.0 truck to a 4.0 car, but still, the 4.0 has been revamped for this car, thus making it "brand new."
