Quick question about 98 v6
I went with my lil brother today in my 06 sixer looking for him a car to buy. He had a wad of cash for a down payment. After looking around he chose a 98 v6er s95, so he could be like big bro. Its green and in decent shape, he got a decent deal on it. It was strange pulling into a used car lot geared towards low income people with an 06 black stang...lol got alot of strange looks. But anyways!!! The bottom line is that its going to need a new clutch and thats about all it needs to be in great shape. Here is my question to my fellow 4.0 buddies, Am I in for a bi$% of a job? is it a TOTAL pain to do a clutch on a v6 s95? I will probably do it next week sometime, I am just worried sick I just voluntered my self for a sweaty, pain in the rear, cursing good time. Let me know about any tips or what I have to look forward to, I am sure I can do the job, I just hate bi$# jobs!!! lol I already checked the s95 v6 forums, and didnt find any luck, mostly kids trying to rice out theirs s95s...lol
Thanks!!
Dave
Thanks!!

Not this forum, it was modded mustangs or some crap, but anyways, Clutches are easy, I just didnt know if there was problems like, clearance between the bell housing bolts and the fire wall, or maybe trying to line the tranny back up upon install.... just curious is all. Thanks though

Sweet. He asked me what Id charge, I told him, well... just buy the clutch kit and let it be at that. He smiled and said "is this how it is being a mustang owner, like a family?" I said " well... sometimes.... and I made sure to send him a link to MF's. If the book time is 3.5 hours, I think it may take me 2-3, the hard part is always re-install..... Thanks though guys!!
ha no, you need to at least resurface the flywheel if not pick up a new one... be sure his clutch kit actually comes with a pressure plate, and hopefully a clutch alignment tool... dont want to get screwed... and waste time... no the job is QUITE easy.... just give your self a full day to do it... dont need any deadlines... also i would find some help if you have not done a clutch before... if you have this one will be a walk in the park... good luck
