I did a search and saw how to activate the scroll text function on the Shaker 500. I held the Menu button until it said RDS OFF. Then I pressed the Right Arrow key but nothing happens. Has anyone been able to get CD's to scroll without pressing the Text button?

 

nope, my MP3 CDs wont do it. Was a thread about this earlier....do a search.

 

I have my radio in the RDS mode and it shows the station and the song and the artist; that is if the radio station is sending out that signal at a given time (they apparently don't always use it).

As for the CD's. I inserted one that I had made on my PC and for the first time it showed the artist and the song as the CD played (by the way, this was PRIOR to me activating the RDS mode for the radio). I'm told that this is the MP3 function that allows that info to be displayed. I have not seen any of the CD's that I have bought in the store show this information, but on a prior forum message was told that some of the newer CDs will display it on our radio displays. And, yes I still buy CDs in the store, I got a lecture about that in the last post about this topic.

I am not a high tech guy, but this should address your question.

 

There are some CD that will show the song playing but the text will not scroll the scroll function is only for the radio not the CD player.

 

press the text key to manually scroll it problem solved o_O
