Which mufflers are illegal?

Is it different in different states? Which ones are street legal and which ones will get you a ticket?

I don't know, but funny you say that when I got my MRT in my folks said that I'll probably get a ticket for making all that noise. On the other hand A cop drove behind me just today and didin't do anything, but I did try to keep it "quiet"....

u wont get a ticket unless u can here ur car from like a mile away, its gotta be really loud.
