i was thinking about getting one 12 sub, i heard that you can run the sub off the stock amp. i think that you can but i was wondering does the stock amp support the sub to the fullest, or will the sub sound better with an aftermarket amp

 

Im not sure you can use the stock amp for an aftermarket sub. I know definetly mine coldnt. I have a 12' JL W6 sub.

 

Wow, you have a w6? I had a 12 w3 v2, that thing would hit for sure. Also had a 1000watt kenwood amp attached aswell.

 

You'll definitely need an aftermarket amp. What kind of sub are you running and are you using the factory deck?

Thats what I have well the box not the sub, I love it! I have a 12 JL Audio W3 in it and it sounds good.

 

Mustang trunks have always been known to be awsome for subs. I am actually thinking of getting rid of the sub and just getting some really nice speakers. I want to get rid of the weight.

 

Same here. But im getting rid of the weight and trying to get some erformance mods.
Thats why im selling my W6 JL. Its still for sale by the way. lol. And this thing is insanely loud! It really rumbles.
