Default wheel offset

the 04 stock rims are 25 mm +offset and the 05 are 40 mm +. If I put 05 wheels on an 04 they would sit about .6 inches deeper in from the fender. Is this enough to cause a problem? I have seen posts saying that you can't swap them, but .6 inches isn't much difference unless the tire is hitting something.

Actually they would be further toward the fender. I have a set of 04 Bullitt rims and they stick out a little further that the stock rims. It gives it a bit more of an aggressive look.

Okay thanks, I guess that will work for my purpose. I got some 07 17" GT takeoffs from Haney Motorsports for my 05 and my daughter immediately claimed the old wheels for her car.

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you said you were getting 04's put on your 05. You were right. The 05 rims on an 05 will be about .5" in towards the inside of the wheel wells. That's what I get for reading too fast. I have an 05 and put 04 rims on and they are a bit farther out, which is the way I like it.

do your wheels stick out further than the fender flares? as in you can touch rubber without putting your hand under the fender?

and also, do you have any problems with turning and such on the front?

i'm thinking about doing the same thing you did, could you give me the specs on your wheels? (offset, backspacing, etc.)
Thanks.
